Actually that only applies to people that believe that "fact" because clearly they'll swallow anything.

i heard that a couple places, that on average a person will eat 8 spiders in there lifetime when they are asleep. lol. I hope that's not around here!! Spiders freak me out more than anything!! Well, at least here in Canada we have a system to deal with scary bugs. It's called winter.

Oh good gosh. The amount of variables in conducting such research are simply mind-boggling. How many people would they have had to monitor to provide a representative sample of the entire planet's population? How many decades would they need to have studied each test case to accurately assess how many spiders they'd eat over their lifetime? Who on Earth would have funded such research? Are there many multi-millionaires that would be willing to invest in an experiment with no real purpose rather than simply donate the money to charity? Oh well full credit to Snopes.com for this. Claim: The average person swallows eight spiders per year.
Status: False.
Origins: Oh, yuk!
I said, 'Quack' It's hard enough to avoid those horrible wriggly things while we're awake, and now we have to worry that they're crawling into our mouths while we sleep? Little Miss Muffett was a piker.
Fear not. This "statistic" was not only made up out of whole cloth, it was invented as an example of the absurd things people will believe simply because they come across them on the Internet.
In a 1993 PC Professional article, columnist Lisa Holst wrote about the ubiquitous lists of "facts" that were circulating via e-mail and how readily they were accepted as truthful by gullible recipients. To demonstrate her point, Holst offered her own made-up list of equally ridiculous "facts," among which was the statistic cited above about the average person's swallowing eight spiders per year, which she took from a collection of common misbeliefs printed in a 1954 book on insect folklore. In a delicious irony, Holst's propagation of this false "fact" has spurred it into becoming one of the most widely-circulated bits of misinformation to be found on the Internet.

I think I better say something before this topic gets too far. Everyone has a right to their opinion and no one should critizise. I created this board for all Brady Fans to come together, not fight. I dont want anyone leaving because of it. This board hasnt been around for that long, and I dont want to be forced to close it down because of fights and people leaving. We are only now starting to get regular posters. Please, think of everyone here at the board when replying to posts and to not take things to heart too much. Not everyone is going to agree on every little aspect of a topic.
Regards, Steph Administrator

That wasnt necessary. Please dont feel that you need to alter your posts in any way or delete them. Like I said, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. We just experienced our first rough patch on this board. Dont take it to heart too much. Keep up the posting though! You have created some great threads
