Morning people,
I hope it doesn't seem too presumptuous of me to be rocking the boat when I've been here less than a week but it just strikes me that eighteen subcategories seems a little excessive for a niche forum such as this. Since this is a fan board I'd assume that most people would want to read all the topics because they're on the same topic. It doesn't really seem beneficial to split them up so much unless, for instance, someone's desperate to avoid posts about Ann B. Davis for whatever bizarre reason.
This is just a suggestion I'm throwing out there but feel free to shoot it down; I'd reduce it to seven. This obviously depends on a person's display settings but seven subcategories should fit nicely on one page so you can instantly see all the ones that contain new posts.
What I'm proposing is that the categories News, Brady Bunch, New People, General and the Questions? Queries? Ideas? would stay as they are. I'd consolidate the rest as follows. There are only three 90-minute movies so I don't believe they warrant their own category therefore I'd combine them with the Other Shows as the Spin-Off forum.
Now I realise this is the most drastic but I think one Cast and Crew category would suffice. While I hope the site gets to the point where the sheer volume of posts would support separate cast forums at the moment I think it would be more user-friendly to keep them together.
Please take this suggestion in the spirit it was intended, I'd really don't want to overstep my bounds.
