Found this article on Barry Williams. January 21, 2006 Past is present for former 'Brady Bunch' star Barry Williams, better known as Greg of television's "The Brady Bunch," proved his versatility with a strong voice and sturdy stage presence late Thursday. His performance, sandwiched in between awards, enlivened the Durango Chamber of Commerce Awards ceremony at Fort Lewis College's concert hall.
"For many, it's like the show that won't go away," Williams told the audience of the show's endurance long after it was canceled in 1974.
First, the series simplified life into 30-minute segments. Then came the endless line of reunion specials, Brady variety shows, television movies. "We even outlast Michael Jackson's child molestation charges," he said.
Most of Williams' performance was light, gently mocking the gee-whiz ABC show. He also described off-set family dynamics, dispelling rumors of any relationship with "Mrs. Brady" Florence Henderson.
Off-stage, Williams indulged Durangoans who intercepted him in the lobby near the entry doors. One successful autograph-seeker described Williams' signing style as quick, with minimal eye contact.
Rita Simon, business services manager of the Durango Chamber of Commerce that sponsored his performance, called him "very nice, personable and down to earth."
